If a contractor implies the City will pay for your crack repair, that’s wrong. What we do instead: during the free assessment we tell you whether your water problem is the crack (injection, from $750), a drainage or backup problem (where the rebate measures genuinely help — both require City pre-approval and permits before work starts), or both. You leave knowing which bucket your house is in before spending anything.

The permit rules kick in for the rebate-program measures — backwater valves, sump pump installations, and foundation drain capping all require City pre-approval and permits before work starts. If your job involves both, we’ll flag the permit side before anything begins.
Sometimes not, and we’ll tell you. Lisgar’s water problems were significant enough that the City ran a formal Basement Water Infiltration Investigation there, and homes in low-lying pockets can face shallow groundwater that no single crack repair resolves. Injection permanently seals the cracks that are leaking; if the assessment shows water arriving from below the slab or through the foundation drain, we’ll say so and point you at the right fix — including rebate-eligible measures — instead of selling you an injection that can’t solve it.
